Interactive educational materials for K-6 grades and additions to the oral history of Rosenwald Schools in Rappahannock County–from the wish list to the “to do” list.
We’re thrilled to announce that the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities has awarded the Scrabble School Preservation Foundation with a $6,000 grant to accomplish these two goals. The grant will also pay for us to incorporate both into our website. That we are
the only organization that received the full amount we requested attests to the value of this work not just to Scrabble, but to the broader community of Rosenwald Schools. It also reflects the confidence we have earned based on our work to date and the expertise of the team we have gathered for the project. That includes Dr. Andrew Mink of the UVA Curry School of Education, historian Lynn Rainville of Sweet Briar College, and filmmaker Lance Warren. Lynn and Lance did an incredible job on the first phase of our exhibit, and we are delighted to work with them again. This is SSPF’s 4th VFH grant.
